Joe Primanti Had a Vision.
Even during the Great Depression Pittsburgh’s Strip District was a bustling hub of activity, with trucks transporting goods in and out of the city at all times of day. It was here that Joe set up a humble sandwich cart, selling hearty sandwiches to hungry truckers.
Sales were good, so Joe partnered with his brothers and rolled his bustling business to a storefront at 18th and Smallman. It was there – open 3am to 3pm every day – that inspiration met opportunity and our Almost Famous sandwich was born.
Since 1951- The Classic Gateway Theatre has dimmed the lights for crowds of moviegoers. We feature an eclectic mix of first run upscale and independent films, as well as the occasional mainstream hit. Audience members walk into a spacious lobby with a sit down café and the theatre’s long history gracing the walls while the smell of the world’s best popcorn engulfs you- before settling into their seats in our renovated all digital auditoriums with new reclining leather rocker seats. In addition to regular movies, the theatre plays host for special events such as indie & LGBT film festivals as well as private one day/night screenings. We are located at 1820 E. Sunrise Blvd. where Sunrise splits off to the east to Fort Lauderdale beach from US 1 North ay the big cruve. Free parking is available behind the theatre in parking lots on both sides of NE 9th Place in between NE 18th and 19th Avenues. Contact management at 954-763-7995 or email to: email@example.com.
We look forward to seeing you at the movies!
